Adjust Lighting and Shadow Intensity

Work with Cinematic Lighting

NOISE changes how light spreads across your world, making sunrises and sunsets appear more dramatic and film-like. Shadows become deeper and more defined, especially under trees, buildings, and overhangs.

To see this effect most clearly, explore during golden hour (sunrise and sunset). Notice how light angles create long shadows and warm tones across the landscape. This is NOISE's cinematic lighting at work.

Navigate Darker Nights

NOISE makes nighttime significantly darker than vanilla Minecraft. You'll need to rely more on torches, lanterns, and other light sources to see clearly after dark. This is intentional—it makes nighttime feel more atmospheric and makes your artificial lights more valuable.

If nights feel too dark for your playstyle, you can increase your monitor's brightness or game brightness setting slightly. However, NOISE's dark nights are designed to enhance immersion, so consider adapting your base lighting strategy instead—use more torches and lanterns to create cozy, well-lit spaces.
