Maintain Performance While Using the Shader
Monitor Frame Rate Impact
No More Brightness Shaders is designed to run on low-end hardware, but you should still verify performance. Open your debug screen (F3 on most setups) and check your FPS during normal gameplay. The shader should have minimal impact—if you notice significant frame drops, your system may be at its limit.
Optimize Other Settings
If performance suffers, reduce other demanding features first: lower render distance, disable fancy graphics, or reduce particles. These changes often have more impact than the shader itself. Keep the shader enabled while adjusting these settings to find your balance.
Verify Shader is Active
Confirm the shader is actually running by checking the shaders menu—it should show "No More Brightness Shaders" as active. On very old systems, you may need to disable other resource packs or mods that heavily modify rendering.
The shader's lightweight design means most potato PCs should maintain playable frame rates without additional tweaking.
