Making Your Builds Glow with Colored Lighting

One of the main features of Neon Reverie Shaders is its bright colored lighting. Light sources paint the blocks and rooms around them with vivid glows. The pack's detailed PBR surface textures also react to nearby light, so you can plan builds around this effect.

Setting Up a Glowing Room

1. Build or pick an enclosed room so outside daylight doesn't wash out the effect.

2. Place light sources you already use in vanilla, such as torches, lanterns, glowstone or sea lanterns.

3.

4. Watch how the glow spreads across walls, floors and ceilings.

Getting More from Surface Detail

The pack's PBR textures respond to light, so block choice matters.

1. Try different materials. Place a light source next to several block types and compare how each surface catches it.

2. Move the light source around. Placing it closer to a textured wall makes that surface more noticeable.

3. Space lights out for contrast. Leaving some darker gaps between lights makes each glow stand out more than flooding a room evenly.

4. Mix interior and exterior lighting. Lights along a path or around a doorway at night make a build pop against the starry sky.

Test your lighting at night. That's when the colorful glow is easiest to see and judge.
