Keep Frame Rates Smooth with Mist Bound Shaders on a Low-End PC
Mist Bound Shaders is built to run well on budget computers without big frame drops. If your game still stutters, a few vanilla settings usually fix it. You can keep the bloom and reflections switched on.
Trim the vanilla settings first
Open Options > Video Settings and adjust these in order, testing after each change:
1. Render Distance: lower it a few chunks. This gives the biggest gain on weak machines.
2. Simulation Distance: lower it to match.
3. Graphics: try Fast if you are on Fancy.
4. Clouds and Particles: reduce or turn off.
5. Max Framerate: cap it near your monitor's refresh rate so your hardware is not working harder than it needs to.
Check the shader's own options
In the Shader Packs menu, select Mist Bound Shaders and look for a settings or options button. If the pack exposes settings there, lower the heavier-looking effects one at a time and watch your frame rate. Make one change at a time so you know which setting helped.
Test in a demanding spot
Judge performance where the pack works hardest:
- near a large body of water, where the reflections are rendered
- in an area full of torches or glowing blocks, where the bloom appears
If it runs smoothly in both places, it will run smoothly almost everywhere you explore.
