Build a Glowing Fantasy Night Scene for Screenshots with Mist Bound Shaders

Mist Bound Shaders adds soft bloom to glowing blocks and light sources and gives nights a moody fantasy feel. A small, well-lit build is the easiest way to show this off.

Light your build for bloom

1. Choose a spot near water so you get reflections as well as glow.

2. Use a mix of vanilla light sources, such as lanterns, torches, glowstone and sea lanterns. Each one picks up the soft bloom effect.

3. Space the lights out instead of packing them together. Gaps of darkness between glowing points make the bloom stand out more.

4. Hang lanterns over a path or along a dock so their glow sits right above the water.

Because the pack keeps a vanilla-friendly style, standard block textures still look like themselves. You do not need a special resource pack for the build to fit in.

Capture the shot

1.

2. Press F1 to hide the HUD and your hand.

3. Frame the shot so both the glowing lights and their reflection on the water are in view.

4. Press F2 to save a screenshot to your screenshots folder.

Take a second shot of the same scene at dusk. The softer light shows a different side of the pack's atmosphere.
