Turn On MinecraftShaderized Shaders In-Game with Iris or OptiFine

MinecraftShaderized Shaders is a shader pack, so it only works through a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine. Once the loader runs, switching the pack on takes about a minute.

Load the Pack

1. Launch Minecraft with your shader loader profile.

2. From the title screen or pause menu, open Options → Video Settings → Shader Packs. Iris also lets you open this screen directly with its shader keybind.

3. Click Open Shader Pack Folder. This opens the shaderpacks folder, which is separate from resourcepacks.

4. Place the MinecraftShaderized Shaders file in that folder. Leave it as a zip, because loaders read the zip directly.

5. Return to the game. The pack should now appear in the list. Select it and click Apply or Done.

Check That It's Working

Load a world and look for these signs:

  • Shadows under trees and buildings that point away from the sun, or from the moon at night.
  • Water that reflects its surroundings and ripples with moving waves.
  • Torches and lanterns that cast a warmer glow in dark spots.

If the world looks unchanged, reopen the Shader Packs screen and make sure the pack is highlighted, not just listed. If your frame rate drops sharply, lower your render distance in Video Settings first. Then check the pack's options screen, if it has one, for any heavy effects you can turn down.
