Get Smooth Frame Rates on a Budget Laptop with Luxor
Luxor Low End Shaders is built to run on low-end graphics cards and budget laptops without heavy frame drops. Your vanilla settings still matter, though. Tuning them gives the pack the most headroom.
Trim the vanilla video settings first
Open Options > Video Settings and work through this list:
1. Render Distance: lower it a few chunks. This is usually the biggest FPS gain on weak hardware.
2. Simulation Distance: lower it as well. It eases CPU load in busy areas.
3. Clouds: set to Fast or Off.
4. Particles: set to Decreased or Minimal.
5. Entity Shadows: turn off. Fewer effects to draw means more frames.
6. Max Framerate and VSync: cap the framerate near your monitor's refresh rate. On a laptop, this also cuts heat and fan noise.
Test and adjust
1. Load a world and stand somewhere demanding, like a village or a dense forest.
2. Press F3 to watch your FPS.
3. If frames still dip, lower render distance one step at a time.
4. If your loader lets you open the pack's own settings from the Shader Packs screen, look through them. Turn down any options that look expensive.
On laptops, plug in the charger and use a high-performance power mode. Many laptops slow their graphics chip on battery, and that hurts any shader pack.
If performance is still poor, switch shaders off and compare FPS. That tells you whether the shader or your general settings are the bottleneck.
