Improving FPS When Lucent Realms Shaders Feels Slow
This pack layers many effects onto every frame: real-time shadows, volumetric light beams, water reflections, bloom, and animated foliage. On weaker computers, all of this can lower your frame rate. You can trade some detail for speed without turning the pack off.
Vanilla and loader settings first
1. Lower render distance: Go to Options > Video Settings and reduce Render Distance. Fewer chunks means less shadow and reflection work for your computer.
2. Reduce other visual extras: Turn down settings like particles or entity distance. This frees up performance for the shader.
3. Close background programs: Browsers and recording software compete for your graphics card.
Tuning the pack itself
If your shader loader lets you change pack options, open Shader Packs, select Lucent Realms Shaders, and look for its settings button. Change one thing at a time so you can tell what helped.
- Shadows are usually the most demanding effect. Look for options that lower shadow quality or shadow distance.
- Volumetric lighting is another heavy feature. Reducing or disabling it keeps the rest of the look intact.
- Reflections on large oceans can cause slowdowns near the coast. Lower their quality if FPS drops near water.
- Waving foliage costs little on its own. It is still worth turning off if you are in dense jungles and need every frame.
After each change, apply the setting and go back to a demanding spot to compare. A thick forest at sunset or a large ocean works well. If performance is still poor, use your loader's option to switch shaders off temporarily for demanding tasks like large redstone builds.
