How to Turn On Lucent Realms Shaders and Check It Is Working
Lucent Realms Shaders is a shader pack, so it runs through a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine, not through the regular Resource Packs menu. If you put it in the resourcepacks folder, nothing will change.
Activate the pack
1. Launch Minecraft with your shader loader installed.
2. From the main menu or the pause menu, open Options > Video Settings > Shader Packs. Some loaders label this Shaders.
3. If Lucent Realms Shaders is not listed, click the button that opens the shader pack folder. Place the pack file there, then return to the game. The list should refresh.
4. Select Lucent Realms Shaders and click Apply or Done. The screen may freeze briefly while the shaders compile. This is normal.
Quick in-world checklist
Load a world and confirm each feature:
- Shadows: Blocks, structures, and mobs should cast soft real-time shadows on the ground.
- Foliage: Leaves, grass, crops, and tall plants should sway gently.
- Water: Oceans and rivers should show clear reflections and small ripples.
- Bloom: Torches and lanterns should have a soft glow around them.
- Sky: The sky should look different from vanilla. It also changes again in the Nether and the End.
If the world still looks like vanilla, reopen the Shader Packs screen and make sure the pack is selected, not just highlighted. Also check that the loader's shaders are not switched off.
