Enable and Disable VHS Effects on Demand

Access Shader Settings

Lost Signal VHS Shaders integrates with your shader options menu. Open the Shader Options screen (usually accessed through Video Settings → Shaders) to find the mod's toggles.

Control Individual Effects

The shader provides separate toggles for its major visual components:

  • Interlaced Fields: Disable this to remove the horizontal scanning lines that mimic old CRT monitors
  • Color Bleed and Ghosting: Turn off to stop color smudging and motion trails behind moving objects
  • Tracking Tears: Disable random glitch lines and screen distortions
  • Film Grain: Reduce or remove the grainy texture overlay
  • Static: Toggle the analog noise effect on and off

Switch Color Modes

Choose between NTSC (North American broadcast standard) and PAL (European standard) color modes depending on which retro aesthetic you prefer. Each mode shifts the color palette slightly to match historical broadcast systems.

You can adjust these settings in real-time without restarting your world. Experiment with different combinations to find the balance between atmospheric VHS look and gameplay visibility.
