Troubleshoot Visual Glitches or Unexpected Darkness

Check Your Brightness Settings

If the world suddenly looks too dark or too bright, return to shader options and verify your brightness slider hasn't been accidentally moved. Reset to default values if unsure.

Verify Lighting is Enabled

Confirm that the shader's lighting features are actually turned on. Some profiles or settings might disable them by accident. Look for toggles labeled "dynamic lighting" or "improved lighting" and ensure they're active.

Clear Shader Cache

Occasionally, cached shader data can cause visual problems. Exit to the main menu, then restart your game. This forces a fresh load of shader files and often resolves strange visual artifacts or color issues.

Check for Conflicting Mods

Other mods that modify lighting or rendering (like certain optimization mods) can conflict with shaders. If glitches persist, try running LitePerf Shaders alone to confirm it's not a mod conflict.

Test in Different Locations

Some glitches only appear in specific biomes or lighting conditions. Visit caves, forests, and open sky to isolate where the problem occurs. This helps identify whether it's a shader issue or a game state problem.
