Optimize Shader Performance on Low-End Hardware

Enable Performance Mode

LitePerf Shaders includes balanced profiles designed for weaker computers. In your shader options, select the low or performance profile if available. This reduces GPU load while maintaining the visual improvements the shader provides.

Reduce Shadow Quality

Shadows are often the most demanding feature. Look for shadow distance or shadow quality settings and lower them. Shorter shadow distances mean less processing work, freeing up resources for smoother gameplay.

Lower Ambient Occlusion and Effects

If your shader offers ambient occlusion or advanced lighting effects, disable or reduce these. They add visual polish but consume more GPU power. Disabling them won't break the shader's appearance—it will just be slightly less detailed.

Monitor Your Frame Rate

Use F3 (or your debug screen) to watch your FPS while making changes. Aim for a stable frame rate above 30 FPS for playable gameplay. If you're still dropping frames, reduce render distance or lower other video settings outside the shader.

Test Different Profiles

If multiple profiles exist, try each one and pick the one that gives you the best balance of looks and performance for your specific hardware.
