Exploring Biomes for the Most Colorful Katamari-Style Views
Katamari Damashaders changes standard world lighting to build colorful environments across every biome. That makes exploring a good way to see everything the pack does. Each biome's blocks and scenery get the same playful, arcade-style treatment, but the results look different depending on the terrain.
Touring different biomes
1. Start near spawn and note how grass, leaves and water look under the shader.
2. Travel to contrasting biomes such as deserts, snowy areas, forests, oceans and swamps. Each palette of blocks reacts to the colorful lighting in its own way.
3. Watch passive and hostile mobs as you go. The pack alters color shading on mobs as well as blocks, so they share the retro look.
4. Stay out through a full day so you can see the lighting at different times, not just at noon.
Taking good screenshots
1. Find a spot with a wide view, such as a hilltop or a tall build.
2. Press F1 to hide the HUD and hand so only the scenery shows.
3. Press F2 to save a screenshot. Open the screenshots folder from your game directory to find it.
4. Press F1 again to bring the HUD back.
Raising your render distance in Video Settings lets more of the colorful landscape show in wide shots. That's worth doing if your computer can handle it.
