Troubleshoot Visual Issues and Compatibility
Check for Mod Conflicts
Some mods that alter lighting or add custom blocks may conflict with the shader's shadow rendering. If you notice strange lighting artifacts, missing shadows on certain blocks, or unusual color shifts, try disabling other visual mods one at a time to identify the culprit. Resource packs can also interact unexpectedly with shaders.
Fix Brightness and Contrast Problems
If the world appears too dark to play or too bright to feel atmospheric, adjust the shader's brightness and contrast sliders. Some players find caves unplayable without increasing minimum brightness slightly. Balance visibility with the horror-film aesthetic by tweaking these values until exploration feels tense but not frustrating.
Verify Shader Loader Compatibility
Ensure you're using a compatible shader loader (Optifine is most common). Outdated loaders may not support all shader features, causing visual glitches or crashes. If problems persist after adjusting shader settings, verify your loader version matches the shader pack requirements.
