How to Turn On FadedClouds Shaders with Iris or Oculus

FadedClouds Shaders is a shader pack, so it runs through a shader loader rather than as a normal mod. The FACTS describe it working with Iris or Oculus. Make sure one of those is installed before you start.

Put the pack in the right folder

1. Launch Minecraft with Iris or Oculus loaded.

2. Go to Options → Video Settings → Shader Packs.

3. Click Open Shader Pack Folder. This opens the shaderpacks folder inside your game directory.

4. Drop the FadedClouds Shaders file into that folder. Shader packs normally stay as a zip, so you usually don't need to extract it.

5. Go back to the game window. The pack should now appear in the list. If it doesn't, close and reopen the Shader Packs screen.

Activate it

1. Click FadedClouds Shaders in the list to select it.

2. Click Apply, then Done.

3. Load into a world and look toward the horizon on a cloudy day.

The game should look almost the same as vanilla, because the pack is built to keep the familiar look and lighting. The main change you'll notice is that the clouds fade gently into the distance instead of ending in a hard edge.

To go back to plain vanilla visuals at any time, return to the Shader Packs screen. Then select the option to disable shaders, or turn shaders off with the toggle at the top, and apply.
