Fixing Common Problems with FadedClouds Shaders
Most issues with FadedClouds Shaders come down to the loader, the folder, or a vanilla setting. Work through these checks.
The pack doesn't appear in the list
- Make sure you're running Iris or Oculus, the loaders this pack is described as working with. Without a shader loader there is no Shader Packs screen.
- Open Video Settings → Shader Packs → Open Shader Pack Folder and confirm the file is inside that exact
shaderpacksfolder, not a subfolder. - Shader packs normally stay as a zip. If you extracted it into an extra folder level, put the original file back in instead.
- Close and reopen the Shader Packs screen to refresh the list.
The pack is on but the game looks unchanged
That's partly by design. FadedClouds keeps vanilla's look and lighting intact, so the changes are subtle.
- Look toward the horizon. The clouds should fade softly instead of ending at a sharp line.
- Check that Clouds isn't set to Off in Video Settings.
- Make sure shaders are enabled and that the pack is selected and applied, not just highlighted.
Something looks wrong and you want to rule out the pack
1. Go to Shader Packs and turn shaders off, then apply.
2. If the problem is still there, it isn't caused by FadedClouds Shaders.
3. If the problem disappears, turn the pack back on and test again in a fresh world. Then check whether a resource pack or another visual mod is interfering, by disabling them one at a time.
