Troubleshoot Low Framerate with the Shader

Identifying Performance Problems

Fabulous VHS Shaders is designed to run on weak hardware, but performance depends on your system. If your framerate drops significantly after enabling it:

1. Check your current FPS (F3 key shows debug info)

2. Disable the shader temporarily to confirm it's the cause

3. Re-enable and test with reduced shader intensity settings

Optimization Steps

Lower shader settings first: Reduce scanline and static intensity before disabling entirely.

Close background applications: Free up system memory and GPU resources.

Reduce render distance: Lower your world view distance in Video Settings.

Lower other graphics options: Disable fancy graphics, reduce particles, or lower resolution.

Update drivers: Ensure your graphics card drivers are current.

If performance remains poor even at minimum shader settings, your system may not have enough GPU power. The shader will still work, but you may need to choose between the visual effect and playable framerates.
