Enable and Disable the VHS Filter

Toggling the Shader On and Off

Fabulous VHS Shaders can be turned on or off without restarting your game. Access the shader settings through your video options menu.

1. Open your game settings (Esc key)

2. Navigate to Video Settings

3. Look for Shaders or Graphics options

4. Find Fabulous VHS Shaders in the list

5. Toggle it on to apply the vintage filter, or off to return to normal visuals

What to Expect

When enabled, you'll immediately see scanlines overlay your screen and notice a shift in color saturation to match old television aesthetics. The static effect becomes more visible in darker areas. If your framerate drops noticeably, the shader is still running but your system may be at its limit—try disabling it or closing other applications.

The shader applies to your entire view, including the HUD, menus, and world. Some players disable it temporarily when reading text or managing inventory if the scanlines make it harder to see details.
