Enable or Disable Depth of Field for Specific Activities

When to Turn It Off

While depth of field creates a cinematic look, it can interfere with precise building, mining, or PvP. You may want to disable it temporarily for tasks requiring accuracy, then re-enable it for exploration or screenshots.

Toggling the Effect

Most shader packs include a toggle or on/off switch in their settings menu. Look for an option labeled "Depth of Field," "DOF," or "Enable Depth of Field." Switching this off removes the blur effect entirely while keeping other shader features active. You can toggle it back on whenever you want the cinematic look again.

Quick Access

Some configurations allow you to bind the toggle to a hotkey for instant switching without opening menus. Check your shader settings for keybind options. This is especially useful if you frequently switch between creative building sessions and exploration. Remember that disabling depth of field may slightly improve frame rates on lower-end systems.
