Adjust the Depth of Field Focus Distance
Finding the Focus Settings
The depth of field effect centers on where your camera is looking. By default, the shader keeps blocks immediately in front of you sharp while blurring the background. You can modify how far away the sharp focus zone extends.
Adjusting Focus Range
Open your shader options menu (usually accessed through the shader settings in your video options). Look for settings labeled "Focus Distance," "Focal Length," or "Depth of Field Radius." Increasing this value pushes the sharp focus further away from your character, useful when you want to see more detail in mid-range terrain. Decreasing it creates a tighter, more dramatic blur effect closer to your position.
Testing Your Changes
After adjusting, look at landscapes with varying distances—mountains, forests, and buildings work well. Walk closer and further from objects to see how the blur transitions. If the effect feels too strong or too subtle, fine-tune the value incrementally. Remember that lower-end systems may have limited customization options to maintain performance.
