Turn On Dara Shaders in Iris and Check It's Working

Dara Shaders is a shader pack for the Iris shader loader. It does nothing until you select it in Iris's shader menu.

Selecting the Pack

1. From the title screen or the pause menu, open Options, then Video Settings.

2. Click Shader Packs to open the Iris shader menu.

3. Find Dara Shaders in the list of available packs. If it isn't listed, use the button that opens the shader pack folder and make sure the pack file is inside it. Then return to the menu so the list refreshes.

4. Click Dara Shaders so it is highlighted, then click Apply. Click Done to back out.

The first load can take a moment while Iris compiles the shaders. This is normal.

Confirming It Loaded

Go into a world and look for the pack's main features:

  • Soft shadows. Blocks and terrain should cast smooth, natural-looking shadows instead of the flat vanilla look.
  • Water. Stand by a lake or the ocean. The surface should show wave motion and clear highlights.
  • Torchlight. Place a torch somewhere dark. The glow should look noticeably warm.
  • Color. Lighting tones should look graded and cinematic, and they shift as you move between biomes.

If everything still looks like vanilla, go back to the Shader Packs screen. Check that Dara Shaders is the selected pack and that you clicked Apply before leaving. To return to plain visuals at any time, select the option to turn shaders off in the same menu.
