Danix Low End Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Open Options > Video Settings > Shaders, then select Danix Low End Shaders from the list and click Apply. You should see the visual changes take effect immediately in your world.
Why is my frame rate still dropping even though this is a low-end shader?
Check your shader settings—lower Shadow Distance and disable advanced features like Screen Space Ambient Occlusion if you're on very weak hardware. Also ensure your render distance isn't set too high, as that affects performance more than the shader itself.
The caves are still too dark to see. How do I fix this?
Go to Shader Options and increase the Ambient Light or Cave Brightness slider to make underground areas more visible without losing atmosphere. You can also carry torches or use night vision potions as normal.
Can I use this shader with other mods?
Yes, Danix Low End Shaders works with most mods, but mods that heavily modify lighting or add custom blocks may cause visual conflicts. Test your mod combination in a test world first.
Why does my lighting look uneven or flickering?
This usually happens when shadow settings conflict with your hardware or render distance. Try lowering Shadow Distance or disabling Dynamic Shadows in the shader options, then reload your world.
How do I make water look better without tanking my FPS?
Enable Water Reflections in the shader settings—it's optimized to run smoothly on low-end systems. If you still see performance drops, reduce the Water Quality setting instead of disabling reflections entirely.
Does this shader work in the Nether and End?
Yes, the shader applies to all dimensions, though the Nether's unique lighting may look different than the Overworld. You can adjust how the shader handles these dimensions in the Shader Options menu.
What's the difference between this shader and other low-end options?
Danix Low End Shaders focuses on balancing visual quality with stability—it prioritizes clean shadows and water over extreme realism, making it reliable for older graphics cards and integrated GPUs.
Can I adjust individual shader features or do I have to use the preset?
You can customize almost every feature individually through Shader Options—shadows, lighting, water, and more all have separate sliders and toggles so you can tune performance to your exact hardware.
The shader looks washed out or too bright. How do I fix the colors?
Open Shader Options and adjust Brightness, Contrast, and Saturation to match your preference. You can also tweak the Tone Mapping setting to change how the shader processes colors overall.
