Quickly Switching Between Cosinus and Normal Visuals

Cosinus warps the screen with cursed, wavy effects and deliberately flips normal visual rules. That makes it fun, but it is not always practical. For precise building, redstone work, or long play sessions, you may want ordinary visuals back for a while.

Turning the effect off and on

1. Press Esc and open Options > Video Settings > Shader Packs.

2. Select Off (or the equivalent "no shaders" entry in your loader) and apply. You are back to plain vanilla rendering.

3. To bring the waves back, reopen the same menu, select Cosinus Shaders, and apply again.

Some loaders also offer a key to toggle shaders without opening menus. Check Options > Controls > Key Binds for a shader-related entry. If your loader has one, bind it to a key you can reach easily.

When switching helps

  • Lining up builds: The wavy distortion can make straight walls look bent. Turn the pack off to confirm a build is actually straight.
  • Motion discomfort: If the moving effects cause eye strain or dizziness, turn the pack off and take a break. Use Cosinus in shorter sessions.
  • Troubleshooting: If something looks wrong in your world, toggle the pack off. This tells you whether the problem comes from the shader or from the game itself.
