Turn On Banana Shaders and Check That It's Working

Banana Shaders is a shader pack, so it runs through a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine. It does not go in your resource packs list.

Activate the Pack

1. Launch Minecraft with your shader loader installed.

2. From the title screen or pause menu, open Options > Video Settings.

3. Open the shader menu. Iris calls it Shader Packs and OptiFine calls it Shaders.

4. Use the button that opens the shader pack folder. Make sure the Banana Shaders file is inside it. If you put it in the resourcepacks folder by mistake, move it to shaderpacks.

5. Go back to the game screen. Banana Shaders should now appear in the list. Click it, then click Apply or Done.

Confirm the Look

Load a world and check for the pack's signature changes:

  • Daytime: lighting should look bright and slightly fantasy-colored, whatever biome you're in.
  • Water: the sea should look calmer, with subtle reflections on the surface.
  • Sky: clouds should look softer. Near sunset, the sky should take on warm, gentle tones.

If everything still looks like vanilla, return to the shader menu. Make sure Banana Shaders is selected and not set to "Off" or "None", then apply again. If the pack is missing from the list, check that the file is directly inside the shaderpacks folder and not buried in an extra subfolder. Then reopen the menu.
