Adjust Water Appearance and Wave Intensity
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated key (usually found in your controls or shader menu). Look for water-related settings in the main configuration panel.
Configure Wave Effects
Locate the water wave or ripple intensity slider. Decreasing this value creates calmer, flatter water surfaces, while increasing it produces more pronounced wave movement. This is useful if you find the default waves distracting or want more dramatic ocean effects.
Adjust Water Clarity
Many shader packs include water transparency or fog density settings. Reducing these values makes water clearer so you can see underwater structures more easily. Increasing them creates a more opaque, murky appearance suitable for deep oceans or swamps.
Fine-Tune Reflections
If available, toggle or adjust water reflection quality. Higher settings show more detailed sky and environment reflections on water surfaces, while lower settings reduce reflection detail for better performance.
Apply and Test
Save your changes and return to your world. Visit different water bodies—oceans, rivers, and lakes—to see how your adjustments affect each environment. You may need to reload chunks for changes to take full effect.
