Turn On Aalu Shaders and Confirm They Are Working
Aalu is a shader pack, so it runs through a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine. It does not go in the resourcepacks folder. It belongs in the loader's shaderpacks folder.
Activate the Pack
1. Launch the game with your shader loader profile.
2. Open Options > Video Settings.
3. Open the shader menu:
- On Iris, choose Shader Packs.
- On OptiFine, choose Shaders.
4. Select Aalu Shaders from the list. If it is missing, use the button that opens the shaderpacks folder and confirm the pack file is inside. Then go back and refresh the list.
5.
Check That It Is Running
Walk into an open area on a sunny day and look for these signs:
- Shadows on the ground. Trees, terrain and your own builds should cast real-time sun shadows across the landscape.
- Water. Stand at the edge of a lake or ocean. You should see simple reflections and gentle wave motion on the surface.
- Familiar blocks. Textures and colors should still look like vanilla. Aalu keeps the original art style, so don't expect a heavily recolored world.
If the world looks exactly as it did before, reopen the shader menu and make sure Aalu is the selected pack rather than "Off" or "Internal".
