Show Off Aalu's Water Reflections and Waves in Your Builds

Aalu adds simple reflections and gentle ripples to water. Placing water thoughtfully around your builds makes the most of this effect.

Find the Best Viewing Spots

1. Visit a calm lake, river or ocean during the day in clear weather. The soft sunlight makes the reflections easiest to see.

2. Look across the water at a low angle rather than straight down. Reflections read best when you view the surface at a shallow angle.

3. Watch the surface for a few seconds to see the wave motion.

4. Compare the same spot at sunrise, noon and sunset. Aalu's daytime lighting changes how the water looks throughout the day.

Build With Water in Mind

  • Moats and ponds. A strip of still water in front of a castle or house frames the build and shows off the reflections.
  • Docks and bridges. Wooden walkways over open water put you right on top of the rippling surface.
  • Fountains and pools. Even small water features in a garden or courtyard gain extra depth with the wave effect.
  • Keep the surface open. Avoid covering every block with lily pads or slabs, or there is little surface left to reflect.
