Fix A Sluggy Hike Shaders Not Loading or Looking Wrong
If the pack will not show up, or the world looks odd after you turn it on, work through these checks in order.
The pack is missing from the shader list
- Check the loader is running. Shader packs only work through Iris or OptiFine. Make sure you launched the profile that has one of them installed. Do not run both loaders at the same time.
- Check the folder. The file must be in
shaderpacks, notresourcepacks. Use the folder button in the shader menu so you land in the correct place. - Check the file itself. Keep the pack zipped. Open the zip and confirm there is no second zip or extra folder layer wrapped around the pack's contents.
- Refresh the list. Close the shader menu and open it again after adding the file.
The pack loads but looks wrong or flickers
1. Remove other resource packs. Disable your other resource packs for a moment to see if one of them is clashing with the shader.
2. Remove other rendering mods. Mods that change rendering can interfere with how shaders draw the world. Remove them one at a time to find a conflict.
3. Undo your changes. If you changed anything in the pack's settings screen, set those options back to how they started.
4. Update your graphics drivers. Outdated drivers are a common cause of visual glitches with any shader pack.
5. Test with shaders off. Switch shaders off and confirm the game looks normal. Then turn A Sluggy Hike Shaders back on.
Once the pack is working, the world should have a clean, stylized look and bright, clear outdoor colours.
