Recognize Undead Wearing Gold Ceremonial Gear

Viking Armory treats gold armor differently depending on who wears it. On you or on an armor stand, gold appears as clean ceremonial ritual wear. On undead mobs, the same gear appears cracked and rusty. This difference tells you at a glance that an armored figure is undead.

Seeing the difference yourself

1. Put on a full gold set and press F5 to view your ceremonial outfit in third person.

2. Equip the same set on an armor stand for a stationary reference.

3. Go out at night or into a cave and look for undead mobs that have spawned with gold armor. Zombies and skeletons can naturally spawn wearing armor, and this happens more often on harder difficulties.

4. Compare them. The mob's gold gear should look cracked and rusty, while yours stays ceremonial.

Using it during play

  • In dim areas: If you spot cracked, rusty ritual garments in the dark, treat the wearer as hostile undead.
  • In multiplayer: Your clean ceremonial gold sets you apart from undead wearing the same tier. This only applies to players who also have the pack enabled.
  • Picking up drops: If an undead mob drops its gold armor and you put it on, the piece appears as ceremonial wear again. The cracked look comes from the undead wearer, not from the item.

If undead gold armor looks the same as yours, check that Viking Armory is above any other armor-changing packs in your Resource Packs list.
