Why Shaders Matter

The URBAN pack includes PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures that only display their full potential with a compatible shader. Without a shader, you'll see flat textures instead of realistic lighting, reflections, and material properties.

Installing a Compatible Shader

1. Ensure you have Optifine installed (required for shader support)

2. Download a shader pack like BSL, which is recommended for this resource pack

3. Place the shader file in your shaderpacks folder

4. Launch Minecraft and open Options → Shaders

5. Select your shader from the list and apply it

Adjusting Shader Settings

Once active, open the shader settings (usually by pressing a hotkey like O or accessing it through Options). Look for options like:

  • Reflections: Enable for realistic water and wet surfaces
  • Normal Maps: Ensure this is on to see texture depth
  • Ambient Occlusion: Adds shadows in crevices for realism

Start with default settings, then tweak based on your performance and preference.
