Fix the Shield Still Looking Boxy

If you enabled the pack but still see the standard rectangular shield, the cause is usually load order or a pack that didn't load properly. Work through these checks in order.

Check the Resource Packs screen

1. Open Options, then Resource Packs.

2. Make sure the shield pack is in the Selected column, not just sitting in Available.

3. Look at every pack above it. Any pack higher in the list that also changes shields will replace this design. Drag the shield pack above those packs, or disable them.

4. If the game warns that the pack was made for a different version, it may still work. Confirm the warning and test in-game.

5. Click Done and let the game reload.

If it still doesn't appear

• Pack not listed at all: the files are probably nested one folder too deep. Open the resourcepacks folder and make sure pack.mcmeta sits directly inside the pack's own folder or zip.
• Changes not showing after editing packs: press F3 + T in-game to reload all resource packs.
• On a server: some servers push their own resource pack, which can load on top of yours. If the shield looks right in singleplayer but not on the server, the server pack is overriding it.
• Only blocking looks wrong: another pack is likely replacing just the blocking model. Disable your other packs one at a time until both states look rounded.
