Designing Multi-Level Office Spaces

Structuring Your Office Building

Use polished diorite and polished granite as your primary materials for office floors and ceiling panels. These blocks render as industrial floor tiles and drop-ceiling textures, creating authentic office architecture. Layer them to form distinct floor levels connected by corridors or stairwells.

Adding Variety to Each Level

Each floor can have different purposes—some all carpet and wallpaper for residential-style rooms, others with more tile flooring for bathroom or break room areas. Mix bamboo and birch wood sets to create different wallpaper patterns on different levels, preventing monotony while maintaining the Backrooms aesthetic.

Use stripped bamboo and bamboo mosaic blocks to mark doorways and passages between levels. The blue tape markings help players navigate and discover new areas. Place sea lanterns consistently across all levels for unified lighting.

Creating Depth

Incorporate iron trapdoors as air vents on walls to add industrial detail. Vary ceiling heights between levels—some low and claustrophobic, others more open—to create psychological tension as players explore. This variation makes your multi-level structure feel more like a real building with different functional spaces.
