MineRooms FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need a mod loader or is this just a resource pack?
MineRooms is a resource pack, not a mod, so you only need to load it through Minecraft's built-in resource pack menu—no mod loader required. Simply download it, place it in your resource packs folder, and enable it in-game.
What blocks do I need to build a Level 0 corridor?
Use Yellow Wool for the carpet, Bamboo or Birch wood sets for the wallpaper and walls, Polished Diorite or Polished Granite for floor and ceiling tiles, and Sea Lanterns or Ochre Froglights for the fluorescent lighting.
How do I make hidden doors with the tape markings?
Place Bamboo Planks, Bamboo Mosaic, or Stripped Bamboo blocks—these have blue tape door markings already textured on them—and arrange them to outline where you want the hidden door to be, then use commands or redstone to create the opening mechanism.
Which light source looks more like a real fluorescent light?
Sea Lanterns resemble smaller flickering office lights, while Ochre Froglights look like larger ceiling-mounted sky lights; use Sea Lanterns for wall and corridor fixtures and Ochre Froglights for overhead panels in larger rooms.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs?
Yes, but if another pack also reskins the same blocks, whichever pack is loaded lower in your resource pack list will take priority; place MineRooms higher if you want its textures to show.
Do the reskinned blocks have different properties than normal blocks?
No—Yellow Wool still behaves like wool, Sea Lanterns still emit light like lanterns, and Iron Trapdoors still function as trapdoors; the pack only changes how they look, not how they work.
What do the Iron Trapdoors look like with this pack?
Iron Trapdoors are reskinned as industrial air vents, perfect for adding to walls and ceilings to enhance the liminal, industrial atmosphere of your Backrooms build.
Can I use this on a multiplayer server?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so each player can load it individually without the server needing to install or support it.
Will this pack work on older Minecraft versions?
Check the pack's compatibility information for which versions it supports; resource packs are version-specific, so using one designed for a different version may cause missing or broken textures.
How do I create walls with both clean and taped variations?
The pack provides clean wall textures on some blocks and taped door-marking variations on others like Bamboo Planks and Stripped Bamboo; mix these block types in your build to create visual variety and mark doorways.
