Check Your Mod Installation
If blocks aren't glowing, the most common cause is a missing or disabled emissive renderer.
- Verify OptiFine or Continuity is installed in your mods folder
- Launch the game and confirm the mod appears in your mods list
- If using OptiFine, check that it's enabled (not just downloaded)
Verify Resource Pack is Active
1. Open Options > Resource Packs in-game
2. Confirm the Glowing Ores and Blocks pack appears in the active section (right side)
3. If it's in the inactive list, click the arrow to move it to active
4. Restart your game after making changes
Test in Darkness
Enter a cave or create a dark enclosed space. Ore blocks should emit a bright glow. If they still appear normal:
- Try disabling other resource packs temporarily—conflicts can prevent emissive rendering
- Ensure your graphics settings aren't set to minimum (some settings disable custom textures)
- Reinstall the resource pack if it's corrupted
If problems persist, verify your OptiFine or Continuity version is current and compatible with your Minecraft version.
