Glowing Blocks and Ores Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need Optifine or Continuity for this pack to work?
Yes, you must have either Optifine or Continuity installed for the glowing effects to display. Without one of these mods, the pack will load but the blocks will not glow.
Which ores glow in this pack?
Diamond ore glows bright blue, making it easy to spot in dark caves. The pack also adds glowing effects to other valuable ores and Nether blocks like glowstone and respawn anchors.
Do trial spawners glow with this pack?
Yes, both normal and ominous trial spawners emit a bright orange glow, making them much easier to spot in dark underground chambers and dungeons.
Can I use this pack on a multiplayer server?
Yes, this is a client-side resource pack, so you can use it on any server without needing server-side installation. Only you will see the glowing effects.
What decorative blocks glow in this pack?
Copper bulbs, redstone lamps, lanterns, and furnaces (when actively cooking) all have glowing textures. Nether blocks like glowstone also receive enhanced glow effects.
Will this pack affect my performance or FPS?
The pack itself is lightweight, but the glowing effects require Optifine or Continuity to render, which may have a minor performance impact depending on your hardware and how many glowing blocks are visible at once.
Do I need to enable any special settings after installing this pack?
Make sure Optifine or Continuity is installed and enabled first, then add the resource pack to your resource pack folder and activate it in your Minecraft settings. No additional in-game configuration is needed.
Does this pack work with other resource packs?
Yes, you can layer this pack with other resource packs in your resource pack list. Place it higher or lower in the list depending on which textures you want to prioritize.
Why aren't the glowing effects showing up?
Check that Optifine or Continuity is installed and active. If you're using Optifine, make sure shader support or connected textures are enabled in the settings. Verify the resource pack is selected in your resource pack menu.
Does this pack add new blocks or just change textures?
This is a resource pack, so it only changes the appearance of existing blocks—it does not add new blocks to the game. All glowing effects are visual only.
