Check OptiFine Status
The new animal models won't display without OptiFine. Verify it's installed by opening Options → Video Settings. If you see an OptiFine menu, it's active. If not, install it to your launcher before continuing.
Verify Resource Pack Priority
1. Open Options → Resource Packs.
2. Confirm Better Vanilla Animals is in the Selected column (right side), not Available.
3. If multiple packs are selected, drag Better Vanilla Animals above any conflicting packs that also modify animals.
Reload Textures
Press F3 + T (or Ctrl + T on some systems) to reload all textures and models without restarting. Animals should now display enhanced details like snouts, tails, and feathers.
Check Video Settings
Ensure Custom Entity Models are enabled: Options → Video Settings → Custom Entity Models (should be ON). If this option doesn't exist, OptiFine isn't properly installed.
