Configuring Trap Rewards

Use the /lb gui editor to add dangerous outcomes that punish unlucky players. Lucky Engine supports several trap types:

  • EXPLOSION — Detonates at the block location with configurable power
  • TRAP — Drops items from the player's hotbar or triggers other hazardous events
  • LIGHTNING — Strikes the lucky block location
  • MOB_SPAWN — Summons hostile mobs near the player
  • COMMAND — Runs any console command (useful for custom damage or effects)

Balancing Traps with Rewards

Set trap probability weights lower than positive rewards to avoid frustrating players. Pair traps with luck penalties—when a player triggers a trap, reduce their luck score so they're less likely to hit another one immediately.

Testing Safely

Lower your own luck score with /lb addluck @s -50 before testing traps. This increases trap frequency without affecting normal gameplay. Once satisfied, reset your luck with /lb setluck @s 0.
