Item Disabled Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I disable an item for just one player?
Use /itemdisabled disable [duration] and replace with the exact username. If you don't specify a target, the restriction applies server-wide instead.
What's the difference between setting duration to -1 and leaving it blank?
Duration -1 locks the item permanently until you manually re-enable it with /itemdisabled enable. If you leave duration blank or set a number in seconds, the item automatically unlocks after that time passes.
Can I disable multiple items at once?
No, you must run the disable command separately for each item you want to restrict. There is no bulk-disable feature.
What happens when a player tries to use a disabled item?
They receive an alert message and the action is blocked—they cannot attack, place blocks, eat food, or interact with anything while holding that item. If they try to equip disabled armor, it gets pushed back into their inventory.
How do I find the correct item ID to disable?
Hover over the item in your inventory to see its ID in the tooltip, or check the Minecraft wiki for the item's ID. The ID is what you pass to the /itemdisabled command.
Can I disable a block from being placed?
Yes, the plugin works on blocks too—use the block's item ID in the disable command and it will prevent placement and interaction.
Where does the plugin store restriction data?
All item restrictions are saved as readable JSON files in the plugin folder on your server, so you can back them up or edit them if needed.
If I disable an item server-wide, can I re-enable it for one specific player?
Yes, use /itemdisabled enable to restore access for that player only, while keeping it disabled for everyone else.
Do disabled items still take up inventory space?
Yes, disabled items remain in the player's inventory—the plugin only blocks their use, it does not remove them.
Will this mod cause lag on my server?
The plugin is lightweight and only checks items when players interact with them, so it should have minimal performance impact even with many restrictions active.
