Optimize Performance While Using Shaders
Monitor Your Frame Rate
The built-in FPS counter appears in the top corner of your screen at all times. Watch this number as you explore—it tells you whether your current shader and graphics settings are sustainable. Most players aim for at least 60 FPS for smooth gameplay.
Adjust Shader Intensity
Not all shaders are equally demanding. Start with lighter shader packs if you're getting low FPS, then work up to heavier ones as your system allows. The modpack uses Sodium and Iris optimization tools behind the scenes, so even complex shaders run better than they would in vanilla.
Reduce Graphics Details
If a shader you love is causing frame drops, lower your render distance, disable fancy graphics, or reduce particle effects in Video Settings. These changes often have a bigger impact on FPS than switching shaders entirely.
Test in Different Biomes
Some shaders stress your GPU more in specific environments—dense forests, water-heavy areas, or caves with lots of shadows. Explore different biomes to see where your chosen shader performs best, then adjust settings accordingly.
