Why Custom Trees Are Different

Woodlands the Core Mod creates trees with custom shapes and sizes that don't follow vanilla breaking rules. Their leaves won't decay naturally, and the trunks are often wider or taller than standard trees. Breaking them by hand is tedious.

Install a Tree-Chopping Mod

Pair Woodlands with a tree-chopping mod like TreeChop. This mod lets you fell entire custom trees in one go by breaking a single block at the base.

Configure Leaf Settings

Once installed, adjust your tree-chopping mod's settings to break non-decaying leaves. Woodlands uses persistent leaves to maintain tree shape, so your chopper needs to handle them. Without this setting, you'll be left with floating leaf clusters after felling a tree.

Test It Out

Find a custom tree in your world—they're noticeably taller or wider than vanilla trees. Break a block at the trunk base and watch the entire structure fall. You'll collect wood and leaves efficiently without manual cleanup.
