Run the 3D Clouds Alongside Shaders and Distant Horizons
The volumetric clouds from Super Fancy Clouds Refabricated have been shown working with Iris and shader packs such as BSL and Sildurs Enhanced Default. They have also been shown with Distant Horizons, rendering clouds across massive view distances.
Using Shader Packs
1. Install a shader loader such as Iris. Shader packs will not run without one.
2. Put your shader pack in the shaderpacks folder.
3. In game, open Options > Video Settings > Shader Packs and select the pack.
4. Look at the sky and check that the layered clouds still appear.
5. If the clouds look too faint or too heavy with the pack's lighting, open this mod's config menu. Adjust cloud thickness or density until they suit the pack.
Some shader packs draw their own clouds. If you see two cloud layers, open the shader pack's settings and look for an option to turn off its built-in clouds.
Using Distant Horizons
1. With Distant Horizons installed, raise its render distance as usual.
2. Fly up or climb a mountain to see clouds stretch toward the horizon.
3. The mod prevents clouds from being cut off at view boundaries. The far sky should look continuous rather than ending in a hard edge.
Performance Tips
- If frame rates drop, lower cloud density or thickness in the config menu first.
- Then lower the shader pack's quality settings or your render distance.
