Super Fancy Clouds Refabricated by Rivmun Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I change how high or thick the clouds are?
Open the mod's in-game config menu. It has settings for cloud height, width, thickness and overall density. Adjust them and look at the sky to check the result.
Do I need to install Super Fancy Clouds on the server too?
In singleplayer, installing it on your client is enough. If you want every player on a dedicated server to see identical cloud shapes, the mod also has to be installed on that server, because the server is what syncs the sky shapes to everyone.
What does /sfcr help do?
Typing /sfcr help in chat shows the list of cloud settings and server controls. On a multiplayer server, use it to see the admin options for managing the shared clouds.
Why is it raining in one spot but not where I'm standing?
Rain only falls in areas where there are clouds overhead, so a storm can be patchy. Look up: if the sky above you is clear, you stay dry even while the weather is rainy elsewhere.
Why do the clouds look different in each biome?
The mod checks biomes chunk by chunk and changes cloud shape and density to suit each area. Weather also changes thickness, so the same biome can show light clouds in clear weather and heavy ones during a storm.
How can I tell a storm is coming from the clouds?
Watch the cloud bottoms. They get darker as clouds grow thick and stormy, so dark, heavy undersides overhead mean rain is likely to reach you.
Do the clouds clip through my mountain base or tall builds?
No. The clouds bend around tall mountains and custom structures instead of cutting straight through them.
Does it work with Iris shaders like BSL or Sildurs?
Yes, the volumetric clouds can run alongside Iris shaders. They have been shown working with the BSL and Sildurs Enhanced Default shader packs.
Is it compatible with Distant Horizons?
Yes. With Distant Horizons the clouds render across its very large view distances, and the mod also stops clouds from getting cut off at the edge of your view.
My clouds used to flicker or vanish after playing a while. Does this mod fix that?
Yes. It fixes visual flickering when you move across chunk borders, and it stops clouds from disappearing during long play sessions. If the sky still feels too heavy on your system, try lowering cloud density or thickness in the config menu.
