Steel Got It Mod is a small, single-purpose mod that fixes the bug tracked as MC-264285. In vanilla Minecraft, flint and steel can vanish from your inventory when you use it to light a creeper. The cause is that the vanilla code does not correctly check whether the item is unbreakable before consuming it, so the item is removed as if it had been used up.

This mod corrects that check. Once installed, using flint and steel on a creeper no longer destroys the item, so you keep it in your inventory as expected. Nothing else about the game is changed.

Install this mod if you play with creepers and rely on flint and steel, and you want to avoid losing the item to this bug. It is a targeted fix rather than a content mod, so it adds no new items, blocks, or recipes.
