Reskin Your Stargate with a Variant Crystal

Each of the thirty-one designs in this addon is applied with a variant crystal. You don't rebuild the gate. You craft the matching crystal and place it into the portal frame.

Find and Craft the Crystal

1. Decide which design you want. Designs are grouped by gate type. Milky Way options include Mossy, End, Ori and Industrial. Pegasus options include Andromeda, Horizon and Spatial.

2. Open Just Enough Items (JEI) and search for the crystal for that design.

3. Open its recipe and note the ingredients. Some crystals use parts from other mods such as Create, Mekanism, Ad Astra, Deeper and Darker or Applied Energistics 2.

4. If the recipe calls for an Apex Core, craft that first. See the Apex Core guide.

5. Gather the materials and craft the crystal.

Apply It to the Gate

1. Go to the Stargate Journey gate frame you want to restyle.

2. Place the variant crystal into the portal frame.

3. The gate takes on the new design. Each design has its own textures, gate symbols and sound effects.

Tips

• Check that the crystal matches your gate's type. Milky Way designs belong on Milky Way gates, and Pegasus designs belong on Pegasus gates.
• Some design names appear in more than one group, such as Galifrey, Create and Apex. Read the full crystal name in JEI so you craft the version for your gate type.
• If a crystal has no recipe in JEI, a required companion mod is probably missing from your pack.
