Pick a Gate Design That Matches Your Base
With thirty-one designs available, you can make your gate fit its surroundings instead of looking out of place. Use these themed groupings to narrow down your choice. Then check the recipe in JEI before you commit.
Natural and Rustic Builds
- Mossy: overgrown stone bricks covered in vines. Good for jungle or ruin-style bases.
- Nox: a pale, nature-aligned stone portal.
- Crafter: a ring themed on the vanilla workbench. Fits early-game or cottage builds.
- Makeshift: a gate scrapped together from junk metal. Suits survival camps.
Dark, Nether and End Themes
- Bloodgate: a dark crimson stone frame.
- Nether: a fiery underworld portal made of nether brick and basalt.
- End: a dark obsidian, ender-themed frame.
- Doom: a fiery red, battle-hardened ring.
- Dark Ascension: a shadowy metal ring.
Tech, Space and Sci-Fi Bases
- Industrial, Universe MK2 and Universe MK3: heavy, dark metal designs.
- Andromeda and Horizon: sleek, minimal space designs.
- Galifrey: golden sci-fi patterns, with a blue-and-gold Pegasus version.
- Forerunner and Ancient: old alien or seed-ship styles.
- Ori: a bright white-and-gold holy frame for temples.
Making Your Choice
1. Note the gate type you already have, such as Milky Way or Pegasus. Your design must belong to that group.
2. Look up the crystal in JEI and confirm you can get every ingredient.
3. Craft the crystal and place it into the frame.
4. Listen when the gate activates. Each design has its own sounds and gate symbols, which may help you decide.
