Craft the Apex Core and Build Apex-Tier Gates

The Apex Core is this addon's key crafting component. You need it to build high-tier gate frames, including the Apex-tier portals.

Making the Apex Core

1. Open JEI and search for Apex Core.

2. Open its recipe to see the exact ingredients for your setup. Recipes tie into other mods, so the parts depend on what your pack includes.

3. Use JEI's "uses" view on the Apex Core to see every recipe that needs it. This tells you how many cores to make before you start building.

4. Craft the core.

Building an Apex Design

There are two Apex designs:

• Apex (Milky Way): a high-tech gate that requires Mekanism components.
• Apex (second group): a clean white-and-blue high-tech finish.

To build one:

1. Look up the Apex crystal or frame recipe in JEI.

2. Craft the Apex Core and any other components the recipe lists. For the Milky Way Apex, gather the Mekanism parts.

3. Craft the crystal.

4. Place the crystal into your portal frame to apply the design.

Planning Ahead

• The Milky Way Apex depends on Mekanism. Get your Mekanism production running before you aim for this gate.
• Treat the Apex Core as late-game progress. Gather its materials early so your gate upgrade isn't held up waiting on one part.
