Pigs with Fireworks Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I launch a pig with a firework?
Hold a firework rocket in your main hand, walk up to any pig, and attack it. The pig shoots straight up into the sky trailing firework particles, then falls back down.
How do I get cooked porkchops with this mod?
Launch a pig by attacking it with a firework rocket in your main hand. The meat cooks during the flight, so the pig drops cooked porkchops instead of raw ones. Collect them where the pig lands.
I hit a pig but it didn't fly, what am I doing wrong?
Make sure the firework rocket is in your main hand, not your offhand, and that you are attacking the pig rather than right-clicking it. The offhand slot is only for TNT, which is optional.
How do I make the pig explode?
Put a block of TNT in your offhand and keep a firework rocket in your main hand, then attack the pig. The launched pig becomes a flying bomb and explodes like a creeper on impact.
Will the TNT pig break blocks?
Yes. The explosion destroys nearby blocks where the pig lands, much like a creeper blast. Launch TNT pigs well away from your base, farms, and anything you don't want cratered.
How do I launch a pig without blowing anything up?
Leave your offhand empty or holding something other than TNT. With only a firework rocket in your main hand, the pig simply flies up and drops cooked porkchops without exploding.
Where do I get fireworks and TNT for this?
Both are normal vanilla items. Craft a firework rocket from paper and gunpowder, and craft TNT from gunpowder and sand. Gunpowder comes from creepers, so stockpile it if you plan to launch a lot of pigs.
How do I get enough pigs to keep launching?
Breed pigs in a pen using carrots, potatoes, or beetroot so you always have a supply. Do your launching away from the pen, especially when using TNT, so explosions don't destroy the fence or kill the rest of the herd.
Does this work on cows, sheep, or other mobs?
The mod is built around pigs. Its launching, cooking, and TNT effects are all described for pigs, so expect it to work only on them.
Does this mod need to be on the server in multiplayer?
The launches, drops, and explosions happen in the world itself, so the mod needs to be on the server for them to work. It's safest to have it installed on both the server and each player's client. It only activates when someone hits a pig with a firework, so it shouldn't noticeably affect performance otherwise.
