How Indexing Works

The Omniscient Storage Index mod automatically catalogs containers as you open them. Simply walk around your base and open each chest, barrel, or storage container you want tracked. The mod runs entirely on your client, so there's no setup needed on servers.

Building Your Index

Open containers in this order for best results:

  • Resource storage chests
  • Equipment and armor stands
  • Material sorting systems
  • Crafting supply bins
  • Any other storage you reference frequently

Each time you open a container, its contents are added to the index. You don't need to do anything special—just open and close normally.

Checking Coverage

Once you've opened your main storage areas, open the search menu (/InvS gui) and try searching for a common item you know you have stored. If it appears with correct counts and locations, your indexing is working. If a container doesn't show up, simply open it again to add it to the index.

The mod only tracks containers you've personally opened, so revisit storage areas if you add new chests later.
