Unlock Locked Treasure Chests with Lockpicking

Crafting and Using Lockpicks

Craft iron Lockpicks using your crafting table or inventory. When you encounter a locked chest, equip a Lockpick and right-click the chest to open an interactive lockpicking interface. The mini-game presents a circular dial with a hidden sweet spot you must locate.

Difficulty Ratings

Locked chests have five difficulty levels from Novice to Master. Novice locks have a large sweet spot and are forgiving; Master locks require precision. The difficulty affects how narrow the target zone is and how sensitive the controls feel.

Finding the Sweet Spot

Rotate the dial slowly and listen for audio feedback—the game provides subtle cues as you approach the correct position. Once you hear confirmation or see visual feedback indicating you're close, fine-tune your position. Success unlocks the chest and grants access to its contents. Failed attempts consume your Lockpick, so carry extras. Practice on Novice locks before attempting Master difficulty.
