Discover Hidden Potion Effects Through Alchemy

Revealing Properties

Alchemical ingredients hide their effects behind question marks until you interact with them. You have two methods: eat raw ingredients directly from your inventory, or brew them into Awkward Potions using a brewing stand. Both approaches reveal the ingredient's alchemical properties.

Tasting vs. Brewing

Eating raw plants is the quickest way to learn basic effects—simply consume the ingredient and observe any status changes or effects applied to your character. Brewing takes longer but may reveal additional or different properties when ingredients combine in potions.

Using Discovered Effects

Once you've identified an ingredient's effects, you can intentionally brew potions with those properties. Harmful potions become particularly valuable: brew a poison, then coat your weapon with it from your inventory to gain hit charges that apply the status effect to enemies. Keep experimenting with different ingredient combinations to unlock powerful alchemical recipes and build your personal potion library.
